With today’s roads being bumper to bumper with various models and makes, styles and sizes. When it comes to choosing your new car, you should first identify what type best fits your needs and requirements. Listed below are some types of vehicles that you should learn about before buying your next car: 


 

Compact/subcompact

This type is considered to have the best fuel consumption, is ideal for those who want to go from A to B, and easy to drive in the city. While these cars are small, they are also built to strict safety standards. 


 

Full-size/mid-size

Roomier and larger in size, these cars are generally more thirsty for gas.


 

Sedan

A comfortable, four-door car, this variant can accommodate about two to three passengers in the rear seat. 


 

Coupe

This two-door car has a more sporty look and comes with one or two rows of seats. It is advisable to choose this car type if you want to accommodate one passenger since it’s not easily accessible for rear-seat passengers.


 

SUV

This type is designed to be driven off-road, roomier than a car, and a nice family-friendly alternative to a minivan. Drivers prefer this type since they can sit higher due to the taller ground clearance.


 

Crossover

This type is taller than a regular car and is a slightly smaller SUV. For someone who wants a versatile vehicle with plenty of cargo space and easy passenger access, this is a good choice.

Generally, these cars are only comfortable for those who sit in the front seat. While cloth top variants are more common, you can even find hardtops that are more practical in winter and are quieter.

This vehicle type is larger compared to other car types mentioned above. A minivan is ideal for accommodating over 5 people (and your family dog too!). It features one-touch sliding doors, which are handy when it comes to loading groceries. 


 

Pickup truck

Some people prefer buying cars, while others prefer investing in a good (durable) truck. If you’re into building or farming, a pickup truck is one of the best choices for you.
